Vicky Xu and her colleagues from ASPI in February 2020 published a study with detailed analysis of the exploitation of Uyghur forced labour in different cities and regions of China. ASPI came to the conclusion that more than 80 well known global brands and labels benefit from this practice of forced labour in their Chinese supply chains. This includes major tech, automotive and fashion companies from around the world including from nine European countries.
