On the ruins left by Nazism and Fascism in Europe in the Second World War, a more united Europe has been built ever since. We have to memorize that heritage of inner-European antagonism, we have to remind ourselves of the great obligation that we have inherited with that tradition, but we also have to build a new and more ambitious European agenda together. That is my Europe Day 2013 message.
